CURATED HANDMADE GOODS BY INDEPENDENT
DESIGNERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Our beautiful boutiques are all about supporting local and direct trade designers. We work hard to bring you unique, handmade items inspired by our incredible Pacific Northwest home. We feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many talented artisans. Hundreds of local makers have been showcased at Migration over the years, some exclusive to our stores. Owner Sara, born and raised in Victoria, also designs and buys directly from friends and designers overseas, supporting sustainable local businesses and ethical production. We are proud of the people behind our products and what they represent.

EST. 2004 | OUR HISTORY

It's all about the Love! Did you know that Migration has been supporting local and direct trade designers since 2004!

Owner Sara, born and raised in Victoria, combines her two loves of travel and design. She began by designing and purchasing distinctive handmade goods directly from friends and independant designers from her favourite places around the world. Supporting both sustainable and ethical production has always been a top priority for her. “Lotus" (as we were known then), was at all of your favoutite markets, artisan shows and festivals around BC and Alberta, we even made it to Glastonbury Festival in the UK!

In 2009 we started the 1st Pop-Up shop in Victoria. The Original collective of local designers at The Bay Centre, featured Sara's favourite local makers. Over the years we have added more and more artisans to our curated list. We've searched high and low to curate a collection of one of a kind gifts and handmade goods for our Boutique. Our Permanent Artisan Fair has supported hundreds of local designers, it is our mission to bring our creative community together. In 2018 our beautiful boutique moved to Government St, in the heart of downtown Victoria. In 2020 we opened a Pop-up & second location in the heart of Main Street, Vancouver. The Summer of 2021 we launched the Make Good Party, our new market event series that celebrates all things local. In 2023 due to the current economy, we decided to go back to our roots and focus on Pop-up shops & our new event series supporting our local makers and small businesses. Stay tuned to find out where we will pop-up next!

Migration has had 10 different boutique locations in Victoria, Vancouver Island and Vancouver BC. We feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many talented makers here in BC, some have been with us from the beginning! Small businesses form the backbone of our community and they need you now more than ever! We thank our customers for continuing to support our local artisans and for shopping local!
